Sands of Fate
The desert sands belong to the region of Damaz, a vast ocean of deserts nestled within mountain valleys. Charred by the lost magicks of the gods, the ruins of the central deserts were avoided until forgotten. The sands have long been thought to be uninhabited due to the natural hazards born of the magicks buried deep under the rolling dunes. Sandstorms have overtaken much of the region’s settlements, leaving what is left to be rediscovered in the immense wasteland. Trade roads cross the valleys but none venture beyond to search the temple ruins. For if the deadly creatures have survived, so must have the lost gods of the deserts...

The Deserts of Damaz are home to warring tribes of native reptilians, sand giants, and lethal scorpion trolls – and the Broken Bone Horde defending the settlements by charging into battle atop massive desert tarantulas. Scavenge crews trade their wares under the arcs of the Sand Serpent Boneyards, gnomes tinker with alchemy inside the towering cliffs of Canyon City, and the gods-corrupted dwarves work tirelessly to assemble the fearsome Iron Fortress of Akhoni within the the jagged mountain peaks. In the shadows, the Immortals of Fate reclaim their strengths as they twist the destinies of the desert peoples. Relic hunters traveling to Damaz will come to revere the buried sites for their legendary treasures, and seek to discover the hidden underdark realm of Mydara - but all will confront the rising gods and their dangerous gauntlet of deadly creatures lurking beneath the ancient sands.

Join the Moon Gate Exploration Co.
As the Moon Gate Exploration Co. travel through the arched stone portal, they find themselves in unfamiliar lands filled with dangers and horrors untold. The terrain, towns, and even the creatures encountered therein may not resemble any that they have seen in their previous travels. Or they might seem much too familiar for their comfort. Regardless of the risks, exploration is their business, and the company sets forth to map yet another uncharted realm.

In Sands of Fate, characters gear up for an archaeological exploration and pack their wagon with trade goods and the items needed for survival in an unknown territory. This is a different kind of adventure - one where a party of rogues, rangers, and druids with skills in cartography and backgrounds as archivists would be well suited to the discoveries that lay ahead. They will embark on the exploration with the added mission of searching for the Original Company, one that has gone missing, and will find themselves in the middle of an intrigue that involves the Immortals of Fate themselves.

This new Company will have the opportunity to meet the Immortals in turn, and their decision in which of these Gods of Fate to ally themselves will direct the path of their own story within the Deserts of Damaz.

The Maps
The creation of customized 2D & 3D maps within Dungeon Alchemist software for every location, from the redwood forest town of Sunbreach to the Iron Fortress of Akhoni, give your table vibrant color for each encounter. Map options for day and night, battle maps, temples, fortress, and all of the underdark and canyon cave systems.

The included bonus location of Sunbreach is the launching point for this Moon Gate exploration. The artisanal village is set in a redwood forest and is a complete village setting with shops and NPC's.

The Art

The custom creatures that roam the desert sands will require commissioned art to bring to life. Hive Walkers, Desert Tarantulas, and even Scorpion Trolls lurk in locations unique to the Deserts of Damaz. Derek Stevens Art and Dean Spencer have been a great sources for early concept art, and Derek will also be ready to take on the character art for the NPC's that will be added to the main story.

Sands of Fate is an immersive tale that entwines the fates of the characters with those of the Immortals and the peoples of Damaz. Character/NPC art will illustrate the journey that the company take through this desert realm, and toward the destiny that awaits them for their adventures beyond. The book will take on the look of a journal and sketchbook written by these desert explorers.

The Bestiary
The desert bestiary is filled with custom creatures that stalk the desert realm. The magicks of the lost gods imbue the sands, changing the very structure of all that live in Damaz. From the Reptilian humanoids to the enormous Sand Serpents swirling under the dunes, there is a deadly gauntlet of creatures awaiting your company.
